Fulfilling the Great Commission through the K network clinics in the Central Asian Muslim context
Workshop » MISSIONARY TESTIMONIES
Dr. Moon, DDS
Our Lord committed his church and his disciples with the Great Commission, “Make disciples of all nations.” When I was in a dental school, I gave my life to Jesus and accepted the calling to become a missionary. I have been serving as a dentist missionary in a Muslim majority country since 1995 and discovered that the Great Commission is not just about evangelism, church planting, and Bible study. Most of the local workers whom God gives me to serve in my clinics are Muslims. Direct evangelism and Bible study are usually impossible and/or not effective. “Is it possible for me to accomplish the Great Commission in my dental clinics through my everyday routines—treating patients, teaching and consulting residents, managing the clinics, talking with local workers, etc.?” is the crucial missional question for me as a missionary called to serve among Muslims. In this presentation, I will share my struggles and a few key lessons that I have learned during my 25 years of service.
