Mental Health Care as Mission: The Need, The Opportunities
Workshop » SPIRITUAL GROWTH
Cornerstone Counseling Center
Oftentimes, we place missionaries on a pedestal, perceiving they are extraordinary people in their call to serve overseas. The isolation, cross-cultural strain, disappointments, relational conflicts, and many other stresses impact their well-being. Many suffer silently because of the shame of their struggles and expectations to be effective in ministry. Cornerstone Counseling Foundation, located in Chiang Mai, Thailand, was established to provide mental health care for missionaries. With 15 years of experience, Cornerstone has provided care to thousands of Christian workers. Learn about the impact of ministry on mental health, the struggles in serving overseas, and how to better provide support for these courageous servants. In addition to learning how God is using mental health care as a means of the gospel in moving people from places of brokenness to greater wholeness, discover opportunities for mental health care professionals to serve in God’s mission around the world.
