Bob Meyer DMD & Diane Meyer RN, MST, EdD
Synopsis - “Encouraging, Missions: Improving Lives, Especially Yours”
Drs. Bob and Diane Meyer will discuss the holistic benefits (spiritual, emotional, intellectual, physical, social, and moral dimensions) of serving with personal, mission stories and pictures from 40 countries. Newly published research from Dr. Diane's 270-page doctoral dissertation is available in the Journal of the American Dental Association (Dec 2020), Dental Abstracts (July 2021), and in their newly released book by the same title as the workshop. They will encourage and stimulate participants toward sharing the Gospel message through dental/medical missions.
For 25 years, Drs. Bob and Diane Meyer have led 75 short-term, portable, dental missions in 45 developing countries while working with many Christian organizations. They are passionate about sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ through dental care, education, and encouragement. They have published numerous articles, written five books on missions, and have run the Christian Dental Society for seven years.
Bob graduated from West Point and commanded a nuclear-capable, artillery unit and the only Airborne dental unit in the world. He directed an AEGD residency program in his 32-year Army career and spent 16 years in private practice before being redirected to full-time, missionary work.
Diane received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, a Masters of Science in Teaching, and an EdD in Christian Leadership and Education at Liberty University where her doctoral research focused on the holistic benefits of dental missions. Diane worked intermittently as a registered nurse and an educator while maintaining their home and family.
Happily married for 44 years, Drs. Bob and Diane Meyer enjoy their three married children and eight grandchildren.
