Synopsis - “Street Medicine in Southern California”

Learn some steps to start a free clinic and the various ways to do "street medicine."  This interactive workshop will help guide your decisions that need to be made about how and where to start as well as what populations you will serve.  Concerns about legal issues?  I will help illuminate answers in that area too!  You will also be shown various team models and how to inspire others to remain consistent and dedicated to the cause.

“To whom much is given, much will be required.” (Luke 12:48)

Dr. Jennifer Zamora has over nine years of teaching experience in classroom settings as well as seven years in higher education and three as a clinical preceptor.  She trained as a PA at the University of Southern California (USC), Keck School of Medicine, Primary Care Physician Assistant Program, then earning a Doctorate in Health Science in Global Medicine in 2019.

Dr. Zamora has clinical experience in pediatric, family medicine and urgent care medicine.  She was a founding faculty member and director of academic education at the PA program of California Baptist University (CBU MSPAS).  After five years she moved on to help the University of La Verne PA program get back on track with accreditation.  Besides teaching, developing curriculum and mentoring faculty, she also designed and executed the live model exam-program, OSCE exams, simulations, hands-on workshops and incorporated inter-professional education (IPE) and inter-professional practice at both PA programs. She is also a founding faculty member with a team from six other schools and disciplines for SoCal HEAL IPE.

Currently, Dr. Zamora is the Director of IPE at UCR School of Medicine.  She has led several street medicine projects and runs a free clinic that incorporates student volunteers.
