Family in Missions
Synopsis - Family in Missions
Taking a family to the mission field brings both challenges and rewards. Drawing on experiences from serving in both short term and long-term missions, including living with her family in Africa and Central Asia, Leah will offer tools and guidance to help you navigate the unique opportunities and experiences that may arise. You will be encouraged to prepare well for the adventure ahead as you consider serving in international missions.
Leah Duininck is a busy Mom of 6 and a grandmother of 8. She grew up in Texas and graduated from Oral Roberts University with degrees in Special education and Elementary education! She has been married to her husband Dr. Mitch Duininck, a family practice physician for 36 years. Leah’s heart to serve the suffering and disenfranchised, along with a life of adventure and travel, has taken her and her family to needy places all around the world through short and long term missions, including living in both Ghana and Afghanistan.
Because of her experiences, Leah spent many years serving medical missionaries in her role on the In His Image International Member Care team and continues to serve as the co- leader of the In His Image Women’s Ministry.
Leah is an author and a speaker, offering insight and encouragement to prospective and current missionary families as they navigate the many joys and struggles of life on the mission field. Her hope is to challenge others outside of their comfort zone, saying “yes” to the leading of the Holy Spirit, which will always shift personal perspective to align with heart of the Father.
